The Northeast Homeland Security Regional Advisory Council (NERAC) is sponsoring a two two-day Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR) trainings designed to improve integration between Law Enforcement, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel during active shooter events. The trainings will practice these skills through both classroom and field-based activities, including several dynamic force-on-force scenarios. The instructors will be Massachusetts-based first responders certified by the ALERRT Center at Texas State University to deliver the training. The courses will take place on the following dates:
- July 16th & 17th, 2019
- Georgetown Middle/High School (Georgetown, MA)
- 8:00am – 4:00pm
- August 21st & 22nd, 2019
- Regis College (Weston, MA)
- 8:00am – 4:00pm
Register for either class by clicking here. Select which offering you would like attend and submit the other required information.
For more detailed information on the AAIR training, click here.
There is no cost to attend the course, and lunch will be provided. NERAC is also offering backfill and overtime reimbursement at up to $35/hour for those who work in the Northeast Homeland Security Region. You must attend both days of the training to receive credit.
Please Note: In order to ensure this training provides the widest possible regional benefit, the number of participants from a single community will be capped at 3. Any number of participants over that threshold will be placed on a wait list and contacted should space becomes available. Supervisors instructing more than 3 employees to register should consider which individuals to prioritize, otherwise priority will be given to those who registered first.
